Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

Full-time Nights shift

The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is a 28-bed level III Baby Friendly Certified unit located on the 3rd floor of the North Tower, adjacent to the OB Emergency Department and the Labor and Delivery Department. The unit provides exceptional care through a multidisciplinary team including Cardiology, ROP, Respiratory, Speech, Occupational Therapists, and the Children’s Hospital of Atlanta. The team is diverse, with various skills and patient acuities, supported by Charge nurses, a Unit-Based Educator, a Clinical Manager, and excellent teamwork. Nurses have opportunities for professional growth through committees, Shared Governance, the Career Advancement Program, and educational trainings.

Responsibilities

The staff nurse provides nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle, utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care. The nurse works within organizational policies and demonstrates professional growth and accountability. Responsibilities include maintaining practice standards and coordinating patient care activities to ensure quality nursing care.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: Graduate of a nursing program
• Experience: New graduates eligible
• Licensure: Current Georgia RN license or NLC/eNLC Multistate License; BLS certification required
• Additional: For PRN positions, one year hospital experience preferred; Bachelor’s degree preferred; Advanced certifications in specialty areas are a plus
