Position Summary:

The RN NICU Data Coordinator serves as a clinical and data resource within the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. This role is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and reporting clinical data, supporting quality improvement initiatives, and coordinating care processes that enhance patient outcomes and operational excellence.

The ideal candidate combines strong NICU clinical experience with exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret clinical data to support excellence in neonatal care.
  • Support clinical practice by applying the nursing process to data management and care coordination.
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Utilize outcomes management principles to monitor and improve care quality.
Qualifications:
  • Requires Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
  • Requires at least five years experience in the treatment of patients in a NICU setting.
  • Level III or Level IV NICU experience strongly preferred.
  • Cerner knowledge is preferred.
  • Requires knowledge of government regulatory and private payer submission requirements.
  • Requires knowledge of outcomes management and demonstrated ability practicing outcomes management with a complex patient population.
  • Requires ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with all members of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Requires advanced data management; statistical analyses; and presentation skills.
  • Requires the ability to interpret clinical data and understand cardiovascular procedures and terminology.
  • Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Requires strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Requires critical thinking skills.
