Job summary

Pascack Valley Medical Center in New Jersey is seeking an experienced neonatal nurse for a Night shift (3×12 hours, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM, Monday–Saturday) in NICU II/III.

The role involves newborn care at a 1:2 ratio, administering meds and supporting high-risk deliveries, with Epic charting and NICU equipment experience. Travel pay applies; onboarding labs must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of newborn or neonatal nursing experience.
• BLS, NRP or Advanced NRP certifications required.
• State nursing license required at contract time.
• Willingness to travel and float to Baby Nurse as needed.
• Onboarding labs due within 48 hours of signing.

Job ID and Shift

ID: 64106616 – Night 3×12 hour shift (19:00–07:30, Monday–Saturday).

Responsibilities

• Provide newborn and neonatal care in a 1:2 patient ratio environment.
• Administer medications, blood products, and perform procedures such as arterial line management, lumbar puncture assistance, high flow nasal cannula therapy, ventilator management, and feeding support.
• Carry out APGAR scoring, monitor blood glucose, perform bedside intubation and suctioning, and support breastfeeding and tube feeds.
• Manage central line and implanted line care, including blood draws and maintenance.
• Assist with high risk deliveries and newborn resuscitations.
• Document all patient care in Epic charting system.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of newborn or neonatal nursing experience.
• Required certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) or Advanced NRP, NRP Advanced, and Stable.
• Travel experience preferred.
• Valid state or U.S. Nursing license in place at time of contract.
• Ability to float to Baby Nurse as needed.
• Compliance with a 50-mile radius rule – no local candidates allowed.
• Must complete onboarding labs and core items within 48 hours of contract signing.
• Travel pay applies.
