Job description

Job Responsibilities

• Support compliance efforts to meet and sustain regulatory standards, monitoring safety and departmental policies.
• Ensure timely fulfillment of individual certifications and Safety College requirements.
• Work with department managers, nurse council, and magnet representatives to identify and share safety best practices.
• Use systems thinking to coordinate care, support families, and maintain a safe patient environment.
• Collect clinical data, follow algorithms and protocols, and document plan of care and patient outcomes.
• Integrate age‑specific and culturally inclusive concepts into patient care.
• Implement self‑management support, develop care goals in partnership with patients and families, and provide structured education using teach‑back.
• Engage in clinical inquiry, performance review, and continuous learning to improve practice.
• Participate in shared governance, provide peer and student learning experiences, and contribute to shared decision‑making.
• Advocate for patients, assess cultural inclusion, and respond to ethical/moral issues.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team in all aspects of practice.

Job Qualifications

• Associate or Diploma RN from ACEN, CCNE, or NLN CNEA‑accredited program with 2+ years of experience.
• Active Ohio RN license; additional state licensure may be required.
• Foreign graduates must have license validated through TruMerit per Ohio Board of Nursing code for Foreign Graduates.
• If hired without a BSN or MSN, must enroll in a BSN or MSN program within one year and complete within five years.
• Preferred: BSN or MSN from an ACEN, CCNE, or NLN CNEA‑accredited institution.
• Work location: Burnet Campus, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, Full‑time, Night shift (36 hrs/week, 0.9 FTE).
• Annualized pay range: $37.00–$41.40 per hour (may vary by FTE status).
