UNC Medical Center is hiring a New Grad Nurse to join our Bone Marrow Transplant Team!

The 24-bed BMTU cares for adult patients undergoing transplant for hematologic cancers, solid tumors, metabolic diseases, and blood disorders. Nurses provide exceptional care with the support of the Bone Marrow Transplant team, applying critical thinking skills. We offer comprehensive training in chemotherapy and disease-specific care, ensuring high-quality nursing for this patient population.

This position is 36 hours per week with day/night and weekend rotation, with self-scheduling options. Candidates must be eligible to practice as an RN in North Carolina before their first day. Benefits include health & retirement plans and generous PTO.

Applicants should be in their final semester of nursing school or have graduated within the past 12 months and have less than 6 months of RN experience. Responsibilities include:
  • Participating in educational activities and assessing learning needs
  • Evaluating and revising care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
  • Providing competent care for patients with complex needs, including bedside testing and safety measures
  • Developing professional goals, participating in performance improvement, and promoting cost-effective care
  • Conducting patient assessments, prioritizing care, and planning discharge needs
  • Engaging in research and applying evidence-based practices
Qualifications:
  • Graduation from a nursing program
  • Enrolled in or completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing within 7 years of employment if hired after Jan 6, 2014
  • RN license in North Carolina by start date
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • No prior experience required
Details:

  • Employment: Full-time, 36 hours/week, rotating schedule
  • Salary: $32.23/hour (minimum)
