Job summary

Inova Health System offers an RN New Graduate Residency program for graduates starting Spring 2027 through October 2026 to January 2027. The program focuses on expanding clinical reasoning, communication, and leadership in acute care settings across multiple Inova facilities in Northern Virginia.

Participants gain hands-on experience in inpatient units, with a structured residency spanning one year, mentored by experienced nurses, and a pathway to professional growth within Inova’s safety,

Qualifications

• Less than one (1) year as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Enroll in an accredited BSN program within 2 years of start date and complete BSN within 5 years.
• Currently licensed as a RN in Virginia or hold a privilege under eNLC; BLS required on start.

Responsibilities

• Makes clinical decisions based on experience and data to promote clinical decision making.
• Supports and empowers patients and families through the care continuum and coordinates transition planning.
• Interprets trends in patient populations to achieve best practice.
• Collaborates in developing and implementing an educational plan; maintains Continuing Education records.
