Job summary

Ochsner LSU Health is seeking an experienced registered nurse to lead nursing care within our unit. You will apply the nursing process, assess patient learning needs, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to achieve optimal outcomes.

The role requires an RN license in the state of practice and BLS certification, with BSN preferred. You will adapt communications to diverse patient populations and support a culture of safety and quality care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

This job acts as a leader in the provision of patient care using the nursing process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses and Scope & Standards of Practice. Effectively delegates, directs, and assists licensed and ancillary team members. Assumes accountability for quality patient outcomes, exhibits sensitivity to cultural, ethnic and religious diversity in all interactions, and maintains involvement in activities aimed toward the achievement of unit and the department’s strategic goals and objectives. Demonstrates professional responsibility and accountability for his/her own practice and supports the company's philosophy of nursing.
