Job summary

Vaughn Next Century Learning Center in Los Angeles seeks a credentialed School Nurse to oversee student health services across five sites. You will lead medical assistants, develop health protocols, and ensure compliance with health laws while supporting access to learning through health initiatives.

The role requires a CA RN license and a CA School Nurse Services Credential, CPR/First Aid, and experience with IEP/504 processes. Travel between campuses is expected.

Qualifications

• Registered nurse licensed in California with valid school nurse credential.
• Experience supporting students with health needs in a school setting.
• Strong communication and collaboration with families and staff.
• Knowledge of IEP/504 processes and health documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise medical assistants across multiple school sites.
• Develop and enforce health office procedures and compliance.
• Assess and plan nursing care for students incl. chronic conditions.
• Develop IHPs and emergency care plans.
• Coordinate with families and health providers for services.
• Maintain confidential health records per FERPA/HIPAA.
