Job summary

UCLA Health is hiring a Clinical Nurse II to provide patient care in the MPU under direct supervision, applying the nursing process and promoting leadership, management, and communication. You will assist GI/Pulmonary procedures and support patient advocacy.

The position requires a BSN or MSN, BLS, and 2+ years of nursing experience; transcripts or original diploma are required on hire. This is an onsite role based in Los Angeles.

Qualifications

• BSN or MSN required.
• BLS certification required (Red Cross or AHA).
• 2 years of nursing experience required.
• Three years of GI/Endoscopy experience preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs.
• Ability to develop and evaluate patient care plans with patients and families.
• Transcripts/original diploma from nursing program required on hire.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Toprovide nursing care to patients and their families in the MPU. Under directsupervision, the primary responsibilities of the Clinical Nurse II includes thedirect nursing care of patients, utilizing the nursing process; the developmentand application of leadership, management, and communication concepts, teachingof patients and staff; maintenance of professional standards; ability to assumethe charge nurse role for the unit in the stead and/or absence ofadministrative staff. Participate with health team members for problem solvingin area management. Assist in the development and implementation of standards,methods and tools to improve patient care. Candidate must be able to function witha minimum of supervision and be highly motivated to provide excellent care andpatient advocacy. Incumbent will assist with GI/Pulmonary procedures as well asadminister conscious sedation.

We’re seeking a highly-skilled, self-motivated nursing professional with:

• BSN or MSNrequired
• BLS from the American Red Cross or American Heart Associationrequired
• 2 years of Nursing experience required.
• Three years of related experience in a hospital or outpatient setting with GI/Endoscopy procedures preferred.
• Must be able to push, pull, lift, up to 35 lbs.
• Skill in implementing appropriate nursing interventions on a consistent basis
• Ability to perform historical, physical and behavioral patient assessments
• Ability to develop and implement and evaluate patient care plan actively involving patients, family, and staff
• Official Transcripts and/or original diploma from a registered nursing program must be provided upon hire
