Job summary

Piedmont Walton is seeking a Staff Nurse for our 24-bed Med-Surg unit in Monroe, GA. Join a fast-paced, hands-on team caring for a wide range of adult patients with orthopedic, general, bariatric, and cardiac needs.

RN-to-patient ratios typically range 1:5-6; PCTs 1:6-9, with opportunities for IV starts, wound care, and bedside procedures. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care while maintaining standards and collaborating with the care team.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a recognized, accredited school of nursing.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Georgia RN license and BCLS required; licensure in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle using nursing processes.
• Coordinate patient care activities and maintain standards of practice.
• Collaborate with team and ensure high-quality care across the unit.

Team members gain valuable clinical experience with frequent opportunities to perform IV starts, assist with bedside procedures, provide wound care, manage NGTs and chest tubes, administer blood transfusions, and care for post-op, central line, and colostomy patients. Nurses and PCTs may also float to assist with needs across the hospital, making this a great opportunity for well-rounded clinical growth and collaboration.

Responsibilities

The staff nurse provides nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care for patients. He/she functions within the framework of the policies and procedures of the organization and demonstrates professional growth and accountability. The staff nurse is responsible for maintaining standards of practice, coordinating patient care activities of all assigned staff in the provision of quality nursing care.

Education

• Graduate from a recognized, accredited school of nursing Required
• Bachelor's Degree Preferred

Work Experience

• No experience required New Graduates of a nursing program eligible Required
• Nursing Experience in Hospital Setting Preferred
• 1 year in a hospital setting for PRN positions Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• RN - Registered Nurse - Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNCL Multistate License. Required and
• BCLS - Basic Life Support Required
• Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable (see addendum)
