Job summary

Piedmont Walton Hospital in Monroe, GA, is seeking a Staff Nurse for the Medical-Surgical unit. You will deliver comprehensive nursing care to a diverse adult patient population in a fast-paced environment, following nursing processes from assessment through evaluation.

Team-based care with RN-to-patient ratios around 1:5–6 and PCTs around 1:6–9 supports clinical growth. A sign-on bonus is available for qualified candidates and opportunities for cross-unit collaboration exist.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred for the role.
• Current Georgia RN license and BCLS required.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients using the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care.
• Coordinate patient care activities with assigned staff to ensure quality nursing care.
• Nurses and PCTs may float to assist across the hospital as needed.

Overview

Join Our Dynamic Med-Surg Team at Piedmont Walton

Our 36-bed Medical-Surgical unit offers a fast-paced, hands-on environment caring for a wide range of adult patients, including those with orthopedic needs, general and bariatric surgeries, cardiac/telemetry monitoring, and complex medical conditions. RN-to-patient ratios typically range from 1:5-6 and PCTs from 1:6-9, allowing for meaningful, team-based patient care.

Team members gain valuable clinical experience with frequent opportunities to perform IV starts, assist with bedside procedures, provide wound care, manage NGTs and chest tubes, administer blood transfusions, and care for post-op, central line, and colostomy patients. Nurses and PCTs may also float to assist with needs across the hospital, making this a great opportunity for well-rounded clinical growth and collaboration.

Responsibilities

The staff nurse provides nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care for patients. He/she functions within the framework of the policies and procedures of the organization and demonstrates professional growth and accountability. The staff nurse is responsible for maintaining standards of practice, coordinating patient care activities of all assigned staff in the provision of quality nursing care.

Qualifications

Education

• Graduate from a recognized, accredited school of nursing Required
• Bachelor's Degree Preferred

Work Experience

• No experience required New Graduates of a nursing program eligible Required
• Nursing Experience in Hospital Setting Preferred
• 1 year in a hospital setting for PRN positions Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• RN - Registered Nurse - Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNCL Multistate License. Required and
• BCLS - Basic Life Support Required
• Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable (see addendum)
