Hartford Hospital is one of the largest and most respected teaching hospitals in New England. We are a Level 1 Trauma Center providing cutting-edge treatment, home to the largest robotic surgery center in the Northeast and the Center for Education, Simulation and Innovation (CESI), one of the most advanced medical simulation training centers in the world. When hospitals cannot provide the advanced care, expertise, and new treatment options their patients require, they turn to us.

This posting is for Bliss 11 ICU, a Medical Intensive Care Unit with 16 beds, caring for patients with complex, highly acute medical issues such as respiratory failure, gastrointestinal bleeding, liver injury/failure, kidney injury/failure, sepsis, and drug and alcohol withdrawal. Under supervision of a Critical Care Pulmonologist, the unit operates 24/7 with a team of Physician Assistants, Advanced Practice Registered Nurses, and medical house staff including interns and residents.

Job Summary

In Critical Care, our Registered Nurses (RNs) are highly skilled, providing expert bedside care with compassion. The unit emphasizes teamwork to achieve the best outcomes, aligned with Hartford Healthcare values of Safety, Excellence, Integrity, and Caring.

Qualifications

• Current Connecticut RN License.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing school (BSN required).
• BLS certification by the American Heart Association required prior to hire.
• Minimum one year of acute care RN experience preferred.
• Exceptional circumstances may consider experienced RNs with ADN/ASN pursuing a BSN or MSN.
• Graduate Nurses are encouraged to apply through the Critical Care Graduate Nurse Program.
