Department/Unit Summary

5A is an acute care medical surgical unit. On a typical day, 6A has 24 patients with a 1:6 nurse/patient ratio and 1:10 CNA/patient ratio. We serve the general population of hospitalized patients with a variety of conditions including illnesses, surgeries, testing, and observation. We care for patients with comorbidities like diabetes, hypertension, stroke, renal, and psychiatric issues. While caring for our patients is the focus, 5A boasts a strong team environment, improved nurse communication, and a commitment to SOVAH Health’s core values.

Qualifications:

Applicants should have a current VA (or Multi-state) RN license and possess a nursing degree from an accredited nursing school (Bachelor’s degree preferred). Additional requirements include:

• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Experience in clinical area preferred
• Telemetry: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association required, or obtained within six (6) months of hire
