Job description

Immediate opening for a Certified Medical Assistant working for a high-paced, boutique dermatology practice. Experience with Dermatology and Scribing using Modernizing Medicine's EMA solution is a plus.

Qualified candidates are great with dealing with people, experienced in a medical environment, able to maintain confidential patient records, and have great time management skills. Candidates must be comfortable working on general PC office computer programs and iPad.

Day to day responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

1. Provide exceptional and attentive care to patients
2. Assist the dermatologist during examinations and procedures/treatments
3. Prepare for cosmetic procedures
4. Room patients, take histories, record in the electronic medical records
5. Check that lab results, culture results, etc. are in the chart
6. Handle/process specimens and send specimens to the laboratory with necessary, accurate paperwork
7. Knowledge of healthcare administrative systems, HIPAA & OSHA policies
8. Experience using EMR software and patient scheduling systems preferred
9. Educate patients in preparation for procedures and post-op care as required
10. Respond to phone calls for test results, medication refills, post-operative care, etc.
11. Must be an engaging and professional communicator with excellent phone and e-mail etiquette
12. Must be computer savvy with strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
13. Prefer prior experience working in a dermatology/medical environment
14. Must have strong understanding and execution of provider consistency
15. Must exude a strong, constructive, and positive view of company culture
16. Ensure all equipment is in working order
17. Sterilize medical instruments/clean equipment
18. Stock and clean exam rooms
19. Back office stocking and inventory
20. Other duties assigned
21. Must be a professional and great communicator, team player with a great attitude

At least 1-2 years of experience with EMR within a medical practice required. Dermatology experience strongly preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $20.00 to $35.00 /hour based on experience
