Job summary

Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, MO, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for Medical Stepdown on the Night Shift. This full-time role offers 36 hours per week and includes a $20,000 sign-on bonus for experienced RNs.

Responsibilities include applying the nursing process, coordinating care with other departments, and upholding patient rights and confidentiality. Candidates should have an active Missouri RN license (or compact) and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following: ADN, Nursing Diploma or BSN.
• Must hold and maintain a current RN license in Missouri or have compact licensure.
• Prior hospital experience is preferred and may be required depending on the unit.
• Required: BLS certification through AHA or completion within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications:

Education:Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following:

• Associate Degree in Nursing

• Nursing Diploma

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Licensure:Must hold and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or possess compact licensure, in accordance with state board of nursing regulations.

Experience:Previous hospital experience is preferred and may be required depending on the unit.

Certifications:

• Required:Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• Education:BSN preferred

• Licensure:Additional state licensure or specialty certifications preferred

• Experience:Prior experience in specialty area or similar clinical setting

Physical Requirements

• Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly

• Prolonged standing and walking throughout the shift

• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties
