Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, Missouri, seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Medical Stepdown unit on the night shift (36 hours/week).

The role emphasizes nursing process, patient care, and coordination with other departments, while upholding patient rights and confidentiality. Qualified candidates hold an accredited nursing degree (ADN, Diploma, or BSN) and an active MO RN license (compact licensure acceptable).

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following: Associate Degree in Nursing, Nursing Diploma, or BSN.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or to be completed within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care and maintain professional accountability for assigned patients.
• Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers and coordinates patient care with other departments.
• Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of information in compliance with Mercy standards.
• Performs duties in alignment with Mercy mission, values, and service standards.

Schedule:Night Shift | Full-Time | 36 hours/week

Overview:

Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and mercy service standards.

Qualifications:

Education:Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following:

• Associate Degree in Nursing

• Nursing Diploma

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Licensure:Must hold and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or possess compact licensure, in accordance with state board of nursing regulations.

Experience:Previous hospital experience is preferred and may be required depending on the unit.

Certifications:

• Required:Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• Education:BSN preferred

• Licensure:Additional state licensure or specialty certifications preferred

• Experience:Prior experience in specialty area or similar clinical setting

Physical Requirements

• Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly

• Prolonged standing and walking throughout the shift

• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties
