Job summary

Saint Luke’s East Hospital in Lee’s Summit is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Medical Observation Unit. As an experienced RN, you will work with a multidisciplinary team to deliver patient-centered care, utilizing the nursing process and supported by technology and a virtual nurse team.

The role is full-time days, with three 12-hour shifts per week. You will be empowered to work autonomously while collaborating with teammates to anticipate patient needs and promote excellent outcomes.

Qualifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (American Heart Association or Red Cross).
• RN licensure required; teamwork and patient-centered care emphasized.
• Associate Degree in Nursing required or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Function independently and coordinate care for a group of patients with the multidisciplinary team.
• Perform patient care and supervise other staff as needed.
• Coordinate care plans with the health care team to ensure optimal outcomes.

This position will give you the opportunity to learn and expand your nursing skills. You will be supported by leading technology and our virtual nurse team who will provide assistance for floor nurses with oversight, education, documentation, and monitoring to ensure the patients receive exceptional care.***Shift Details: This position is Full Time Days (3, 12-hr shifts per week)*****The Work:*** Function independently and accountable for utilizing the nursing process* Coordinate the care for a group of patients with the Multidisciplinary Team* Performs patient care, delegating patient care tasks and for supervision of other patient care staff* Coordinates the plan of care for a group of assigned patients and consulting with other members of the health care team when indicated to ensure optimal patient outcomesDemonstrates proficiency and abides by policies, rules, guidelines, and procedures.
