Job summary

Corewell Health South is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Medical-Oncology Unit (36 beds) with a focus on adult patients with medical, cardiovascular, oncological, hospice and palliative needs. The RN will deliver patient- and family-centered care, using the nursing process from admission through discharge, and provide personalized teaching for optimal outcomes.

The role is full-time, night shift (7 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.) with benefits and a sign-on bonus of up to $10,000 for external candidates.

Qualifications

• Associates in Nursing.
• Bachelors in Nursing within 5 years.
• Graduates from a non-accredited school of nursing must have at least one year of acute care experience or at least two years of experience in a licensed health care role and must have successfully passed the NCLEX licensure.
• MI Registered Nurse (RN) AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days

Responsibilities

• The Registered Nurse (RN) practices within the ANA scope of practice, delivering high-quality, patient- and family-centered care.
• Utilizes the nursing process from assessment through discharge coordination to tailor care to each patient and family.
• Partners with patients and families to develop personalized teaching strategies to support education and optimal health outcomes.
• Maintain collaboration with the care team to promote trust, satisfaction, and holistic healing across the continuum of care.

Scope of Work

The Registered Nurse (RN) at Corewell Health South practices within the American Nurses Association (ANA) scope of practice, utilizing the nursing process to deliver high-quality, patient- and family- centered care. Through comprehensive assessment, planning , implementation, evaluation, and discharge coordination, the RN ensures that care is tailored to meet the unique needs and goals of each patient and their families. By actively partnering with patients and families, the RN integrates their input into the plan of care and develops personalized teaching strategies to support education, empowerment, and optimal health outcomes. This collaborative approach foster trust, enhances patient satisfaction, and promotes holistic healing across the continuum of care.
