Job summary

PeaceHealth is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Medical 2 (Med/Surg) unit on a full-time night shift. This role offers opportunities to grow clinical skills, care for diverse patients, and contribute to a caring, team-based environment.

You will participate in comprehensive patient care, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and provide education to patients and families while supporting safety and quality initiatives.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current RN license and BLS certification at hire.
• Minimum of 1 year non-acute RN or 6 months acute RN experience; or ability to independently provide care.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
• Deliver high-quality nursing care in a fast-paced Med/Surg setting.
• Monitor patient conditions, identify changes, and respond appropriately.
• Document patient care accurately in the EMR system.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and case managers for coordinated care.
• Delegate and direct care activities based on team competencies.
• Support patient safety, quality improvement, and infection prevention initiatives.
• Educate patients and families throughout the healthcare journey.

We're seeking a Registered Nurse for a Full-Time (0.90 FTE), Night Shift position. Compensation

• Salary Range: $45.78 - $82.98 per hour
• Hiring rate is based on experience
• Position represented by a collective bargaining agreement
• Multiple openings may be available

What You'll Do

As a valued member of the Medical 2 team, you will:

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
• Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care in a fast-paced Med/Surg environment.
• Monitor patient conditions, identify changes, and respond appropriately.
• Document patient care accurately and thoroughly within the electronic medical record.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
• Delegate and direct care activities based on team members' scope of practice and demonstrated competencies.
• Support patient safety, quality improvement, and infection prevention initiatives.
• Build meaningful relationships with patients and families while providing education and emotional support throughout their healthcare journey.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire
• Minimum of:
  • One year of non-acute RN experience, or
  • Six months of acute care RN experience
  • Or ability to independently provide care within the department

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• One year of Registered Nurse experience
