Job summary

Trinity Health Ann Arbor seeks a Registered Nurse for the 8E Medical/Surgical Unit in General Surgery. You will gather and analyze patient information, develop and revise an individualized plan of care, and educate patients and families using teach-back methods.

We require graduation from an accredited nursing program eligible for NCLEX, MI RN license, BLS, and ACLS for certain departments. BSN preferred; experience with general surgery patients is a plus.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program eligible to sit for the NCLEX exam to become licensed as an RN.
• BSN preferred.
• Current Michigan RN license or eligibility.
• BLS; ACLS required for specific departments (Float Pool, Cardiac/Cath Lab, AICU, Emergency).
• Experience with general surgery patients is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Gathers and analyzes patient information.
• Develops, implements, evaluates and revises an individualized plan of care.
• Uses teach-back methodology to educate patient and family.
• Actively seeks to prevent potential hospital acquired conditions.
• Effectively communicates patient status, priority goals and interventions during rounds and handoffs.
