Job summary

Allegheny Health Network’s 2West unit in Canonsburg, PA, is a 40-bed Medical‑Surgical/Telemetry unit delivering comprehensive care across cardiac, pulmonary, infectious disease, neurology, GI, surgical and orthopedic specialties.

The unit also manages observation patients and emphasizes collaborative practice among RNs, LPNs, PCTs, Cardiac Monitor Technicians and Unit Secretaries to support professional development.

Qualifications

• Current State of PA RN licensure or multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
• CPR certification (American Heart Association)
• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process in providing and coordinating the plan of patient care for the age appropriate population. (30%)
• Initiates, monitors and revises interdisciplinary plan of care based on assessment findings and physician orders for the age appropriate population. (20%)
• Completes patient documentation in a comprehensive manner in accordance with facility policies and regulatory requirements that promotes interdisciplinary communication. (25%)
• Provides ongoing and appropriate teaching to patients and families to effectively guide them across the continuum of care. (20%)
• Supports the development of students, new staff and colleagues, may serve as a preceptor. (5%)
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
