Job summary

Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia, MN is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse to deliver personalized patient care across the nursing process, aligned with Ridgeview standards.

You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care; educate patients and families; document records; participate in quality improvement; and serve as a patient advocate.

Requirements include MN RN license (or permit in process), BLS, ACLS within 6 months, TNCC or trauma education within 1 year; BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Current Minnesota RN license or permit from Minnesota Board of Nursing while license is processed.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from recognized provider.
• ACLS certification within 6 months of hire.
• TNCC or trauma education meeting state trauma system requirements within 1 year of hire.

Purpose of Job:

This position is responsible for the delivery of individualized patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in accordance with the Standards of Nursing Care and Practice as defined by Ridgeview Medical Center, the Minnesota Nurse Practice Standards Act, and the ANA Standards of Clinical Nursing Practice.

Job Functions:

• Assesses patient health problems needs and develops, implements and evaluates patient care plans accordingly.
• Advises and educates patients, family members and significant others on health maintenance and disease prevention for the patient.
• Documents and maintains accurate medical records and reports.
• Participates in quality improvement activities as appropriate to position.
• Serves as a patient advocate in seeking appropriate community resources to meet patient needs.
• Interacts with and contributes to the professional development of peers, other healthcare providers, and colleagues to enhance own professional nursing practice.
• Demonstrates competencies in the specialty area of .
• Performs other duties as assigned.

When functioning as a Charge Nurse

• Manages flow of patients through inpatient and/or outpatient departments.
• Assigns resources to care for patients and arranges staffing to ensure safe patient care.
• Provides work direction and addresses issues during the shift.
• Acts as a liaison between staff, patients, and physicians.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

License/Certifications

• Current professional nurse licensure in Minnesota or if licensed in another state, a permit from the Minnesota Board of Nursing while the license application is in process.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross within 6 months from hire.
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) or successful completion of trauma education that meets the requirements by the state trauma system within 1 year of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
