Job summary

LCMC Health is seeking an ER nurse who brings empathy, skill, and teamwork to a fast-paced New Orleans setting. This role emphasizes patient-centered care, wound management, infection control, and seamless communication across the care team to ensure high-quality outcomes.

Minimum credentials include an active Louisiana RN license and BLS; additional certifications (ACLS, CPI, PALS, TNCC, ENPC) are preferred or required within specified timelines.

Qualifications

• Current nursing license to practice in Louisiana.
• American Heart Association BLS certification.
• ACLS, CPI and PALS certifications (New grad must obtain within 6 months).
• TNCC (CHNOLA and UMC ERs only)
• ENPC (can substitute for PALS at UMC or EJMC ERs)

Responsibilities

• Prioritize, coordinate and delegate all care touchpoints for patients.
• Maintain and advocate a safe environment for everyone.
• Monitor and engage with patients, families and care team during significant events or changes in patient condition.
• Prevent and treat wounds.
• Ensure continuity of care and exceptional experience for every patient.
• Advise supervisor when assignments cannot be completed promptly or safely.

Your Everyday

Prioritize, coordinate and delegate all care touchpoints for your patients.

Maintain and advocate a safe environment for everyone.

Monitor and engage with patients, families, and appropriate care team members concerning significant events or patient condition changes.

Prevent and treat wounds.

Monitor and execute Joint Commission infection control and environment of care requirements.

Ensure continuity of care, efficient throughput, consistent communications, and an exceptional experience for every patient.

Advise and consult with supervisor when unable to complete assignments or perform tasks promptly, effectively, or safely.

Initiate patient and family education using appropriate resources and care services.Address patient questions and concerns.

Contribute to the team by assistingothers without being asked.

The Must-Haves

Minimum

Current nursing license to practice in the state of Louisiana and as defined by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing

Current American Heart Association BLS certification.

Current ACLS, CPI and PALS certifications.(New grad must obtain within 6 months of hire).

Current TNCC (CHNOLA and UMC ERs only)

ENPC (can be substitute for PALS at UMC or EJMC ERs)

Preferred

Emergency Room experience and ER nursing knowledge

Minimum Required: 1 year for a flex RN position

Preferred: 2 years in a related clinical area
