Job summary

HCA Florida Gulf Coast Hospital in Panama City, FL is seeking a dynamic RN for Medical-Surgical Orthopedics on a PRN basis. The RN will provide compassionate care, perform autonomous assessments, and support a patient-centered care model in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team.

The role requires Florida RN licensure, BLS, and a nursing degree with preference for BSN. Prior acute care experience and NIH Stroke Scale certification within 30 days are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Florida RN license and/or approved multistate RN license required.
• BLS-AHA Provider card required within 30 days of start date.
• Nursing Diploma or ASN; BSN preferred.
• 1 year of RN experience in an Acute Care environment preferred.
• NIH Stroke Scale must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Collect comprehensive data pertinent to the patient’s health or situation.
• Advocate for patients as part of the interdisciplinary team.
• Analyze the assessment data to determine the diagnosis or issues.
• Identify expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the patient and the situation.
• Act as an advocate for patient safety.
• Ensure effective care and use of time, supplies, and equipment.
• Educate patients regarding their medications, procedures and treatments, providing patients and their families with support throughout their stay.
