This RN Med Surg Oncology position is based in Tallahassee, FL at a 288-bed acute-care hospital serving Leon and Gadsden Counties. The hospital operates a dedicated Cancer Center alongside a Chest Pain Center with PCI-Resuscitation, a Stroke Center, a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, and a Behavioral Health Center, among other specialty services. The unit uses a patient-centered care model with an interdisciplinary team approach to oncology nursing.
As an Oncology RN on the Med‑Surg unit, you will perform comprehensive patient assessments and independently analyze clinical data to establish diagnoses and drive individualized care plans with defined, measurable outcomes. You will serve as a consistent advocate for patient safety within the interdisciplinary team, coordinating care across disciplines to ensure treatment decisions reflect each patient's unique situation. A significant part of the role involves educating patients and their families about medications, procedures, and treatments, supporting them throughout their hospital stay. You will also steward efficient use of time, supplies, and equipment to maintain safe and effective unit operations.
