Job Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides patient-centered care through assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This role involves coordinating and delivering high-quality care based on clinical protocols and physician orders. The RN collaborates with healthcare professionals to ensure effective patient care and positive outcomes, maintaining a compassionate environment for patients and families.

Essential Functions
  • Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care according to policies and the nursing process.
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, document findings, and report changes.
  • Provide age-appropriate care and education based on human development knowledge.
  • Administer medications, monitor side effects, and document accordingly.
  • Assist physicians during procedures within competency scope.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate care plans with the healthcare team.
  • Respond to emergencies and participate in life-saving interventions.
  • Advocate for patient rights and needs.
  • Educate patients and families on conditions and post-discharge care.
  • Follow infection control protocols.
  • Operate medical equipment safely.
  • Ensure patient safety and maintain a clean environment.
  • Participate in audits and compliance checks.
  • Make responsible decisions in care planning and delegation.
  • Document care and education thoroughly and promptly.
  • Engage in professional development.
  • Contribute to performance improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • 0-2 years of clinical nursing experience or student rotations in acute care required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong knowledge of nursing process and practices.
  • Effective assessment and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in medication administration and monitoring.
  • Good interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and quality initiatives.
Licenses and Certifications
  • RN license in the state or a compact license.
  • BCLS certification required.
  • ACLS, PALS, NRP certifications preferred.
