Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Med Surg Unit 5B to deliver professional nursing care during the night shift (7:00 PM–7:30 AM) with every other weekend and holiday rotation. The role requires acute care experience, RN licensure in PA, and BLS certification, with opportunities to mentor staff and contribute to patient education.

The position emphasizes teamwork, patient safety, and advancement within a Magnet-designated network known for nursing excellence.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited Nursing program.
• Current RN license in PA or eligible to practice in PA.
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
• Ability to organize and prioritize patient care assignments.
• Successful completion of unit-specific orientation programs.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for designated patients.
• Collaborate with physicians and inter-disciplinary team to meet patient needs.
• Demonstrate ANA-aligned practices and quality improvement involvement.
• Provide patient and family education throughout treatment.
• Lead and mentor new staff and interns when assigned.
