Job summary

Uintah Basin Medical Center in Roosevelt, UT is seeking a Med-Surg RN to provide comprehensive care to adult patients with a wide range of medical conditions, surgical procedures, and chronic illnesses.

The Med-Surg RN is responsible for assessing patient needs, developing and implementing care plans, administering medications, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of practice.
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care according to nursing standards and hospital policies.
• Monitor patient conditions, vital signs, and responses to treatment.
• Administer medications, IV therapy, blood products, and treatments as prescribed.
• Perform wound care, catheter care, and post-operative monitoring.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, procedures, and discharge instructions.
• Coordinate care with physicians, case managers, physical therapy, and other healthcare professionals.
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the medical record.
• Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition and initiate appropriate interventions.
• Maintain patient safety, infection control, and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Serve as a patient advocate and provide emotional support to patients and families.

Regulatory Requirements
