Job summary

Union Hospital, part of the Cleveland Clinic, in Dover, Ohio, seeks an experienced RN to join the 6100 Medical Floor. You will deliver direct nursing care, develop and revise care plans, monitor patient conditions, administer medications, and coordinate discharge needs.

Shifts are nights 7:00PM–7:30AM with rotating weekends and holidays. Eligible candidates graduate from an approved nursing program, hold RN licensure, BLS certification, and at least one year of acute care RN experience; BSN

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN).
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through AHA or American Red Cross.
• One year of current acute care RN experience OR military RN experience.

Union Hospital’s 6100 Medical Floor provides care to patients ages 18 and above with chronic illnesses, such as COPD, CHF, and diabetes, and post‑op patients who have had a knee replacement, shoulder surgery, hip replacement, colostomies, and exploratory laps. This unit has caregivers ranging from new graduates to 30+ years of experience, and they all work collaboratively to provide the best possible care to their patients. As an RN on this unit, you will deliver exceptional care throughout the patient care journey. In this role, you will interact directly with patients and their families, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and provide healthcare education as needed. A caregiver in this position works nights from 7:00PM – 7:30AM, including rotating weekends and holidays.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
• One year of current acute care RN experience OR military RN experience

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Physical Requirements:

• Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye‑hand coordination.
• Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
• Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
• Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
• Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
• Medium Work – Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
