Unit Hours: Standard 12hr, 7-7 with self-scheduling.

Job Summary

As a Registered Nurse, you will oversee patient care provided by the healthcare team using a professional practice model. Your responsibilities include patient assessment, recognizing health issues, creating care plans, and assessing patient responses.

What You'll Do

  1. Conduct detailed clinical assessments, prioritize patient and family needs, create, implement, and evaluate care plans. Adjust plans to reach desired outcomes.
  2. Build relationships, manage discomfort, and maintain professionalism in therapeutic connections with patients and families.
  3. Create care plans reflecting values to aid in resolving issues.
  4. Educate patients, families, nurses, and community members to empower them with knowledge for better healthcare choices. Assess and document learning needs regularly.
  5. Work with colleagues and community to create a care plan. Delegate tasks carefully and follow up promptly.
  6. Use different strategies for problem-solving with patients, families, and staff. Recognize limitations and prioritize safety, effectiveness, and efficiency in patient care planning and delivery.
  7. Achieve goals through teamwork, recognize contributions, and commit to growth. Contribute to peers' development and show commitment to community service.

What Will Make You Successful In The Role

  1. A deep understanding of nursing and patient care standards, as well as procedures.
  2. Knowledge of nursing laws, rules, standards, and guidelines in your area. Understanding of hospital procedures and rules.
  3. Proficiency in medical terms, focusing on health, disease prevention, management, common medications, and their side effects.
  4. Respect for medical and professional nursing ethics and patient privacy rights.
  5. Exceptional communication skills, allowing for clear expression of thoughts both verbally and in writing.
  6. Positive social skills to facilitate interactions with a diverse range of parties.
  7. Excellent problem-solving capabilities, driving effective critical thinking.
  8. Basic computer skills, encompassing areas such as Microsoft Office, information security, scheduling and payroll systems, electronic medical documentation, and email.

Qualifications

  1. RN Experience: At least two years in Med/Surg/Tele.
  2. Must have true, recent hospital inpatient experience. Outdated Med/Surg/Tele RN experience or experience within LTAC, Rehab, Hospice/Palliative, Home Health, SNF, etc. will not be considered.
  3. Education: BSN or higher
  4. License/Certification:
    • RN - Registered Nurse
    • BLS - Basic Life Support (required within 30 days of hire)
