Job summary

Newberry County Memorial Hospital (NCMH) is seeking a Med/Surg Registered Nurse to prescribe interventions, coordinate care, and delegate tasks to the care team for assigned patients.

The role requires an active South Carolina RN license, BLS/CPR, with ACLS preferred. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential to manage high-stress situations and collaborate with physicians and staff.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state of South Carolina.
• BLS/CPR required, ACLS preferred.
• Clinical experience in an acute care setting preferred.
• High level of interpersonal skills needed to coordinate care and communicate with patients, families, and staff.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and to apply problem solving in care planning.

Responsibilities

The Med/Surg RN prescribes interventions, delegates tasks, and coordinates care of assigned patients. Gives direction and supervision to ancillary staff and gives individualized patient care. In doing so, uses the nursing (problem solving) process with age- appropriate assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.

Requirements

Education:

• Current RN license in the state of South Carolina.
• BLS/CPR required, ACLS preferred.

Experience:

• Clinical experience in an acute care setting preferred.
• High level of interpersonal skills needed in order to ensure patient cooperation with the medical and nursing plan of care.
• Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to apply problem solving skills to all situations.
• Ability to cope with high stress levels when dealing with patients, families, physicians, and other staff.
