Location: OU Health Edmond
Shift Available: PRN 7a - 7p
The Med Surg Unit in Edmond allows healthcare professionals to participate in clinically advanced patient care and use cutting-edge technology. The unit also provides advanced clinical education with access to step down training. There is a tremendous amount of Tech support in the unit and is not an on-call unit.
General Description:
Under general supervision, provides nursing care in a hospital to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing required. Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Nursing Board Approved Program preferred
Experience: N/A
License(s)/Certification(s)/Registration(s) Required: Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC). Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire. ACLS (American Heart Association) required within 1 year of hire.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques and procedures. Ability to organize, plan, coordinate and evaluate nursing services and apply nursing techniques. Ability to maintain good working relationships with other employees. Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors. Some computer skills.
