Job summary

Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, MO, is seeking a Registered Nurse for Medical 7W (Med Surg) on a PRN schedule. The role emphasizes nursing care, coordination with teams, and ensuring patient rights and confidentiality throughout shifts.

The unit focuses on common adult diagnoses, building skills in cardiac rhythm interpretation and fast-paced patient management. Prior hospital experience is preferred, with BLS required or obtained within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following: Associate Degree in Nursing, Nursing Diploma, or BSN.
• Current MO RN license or compact license per state regulations.
• Hospital experience is preferred or may be required depending on unit.
• BLS certification required (or completion within 30 days of hire).

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care.
• Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients.
• Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers.
• Coordinates patient care with other departments and maintains patient rights and confidentiality.
