Job summary

fingerlakes is seeking a Registered Nurse to deliver high-quality care in a Med/Surg setting with cardiac telemetry. The RN will assess needs, develop plans with the interdisciplinary team, provide direct care, and coordinate care through the patient’s episode.

The role emphasizes patient family education for post-discharge self-care and lifestyle changes, along with promoting comfort and emotional support in a healing environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Registered Nurse Program.
• BSN preferred.
• Current NYS License to Practice as an RN.
• BLS and ACLS required through the RQI system during clinical orientation.
• CPI obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Basic Coronary Care obtained within 6 months of hire.
• Analytical skills to assess, prepare, implement and evaluate patient care outcomes.
• One to two years of successful RN experience in acute care preferred.

Job description

The Registered Nurse applies knowledge of nursing theory, technical, and communication skills in delivering high quality compassionate care to patients and families. The RN assesses patient need, develops a plan of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, provides direct care, evaluates patient progress, and coordinates the care delivery throughout the patient’s episode. The Med/Surg RN develops specialized skill in the area of cardiac care including telemetry monitoring. The RN is accountable for patient family education to assist the patient and family in understanding self care beyond hospitalization, including lifestyle changes to support health and healing. He/She promotes comfort and provides emotional support in a healing environment.

naEDUCATION:

Minimum:

• Graduate from an accredited Registered Professional Nurse Program.

Preferred:

• Bachelors of Science in Nursing.

LICENSE:

Minimum:

• Current NYS License to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse.

PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONS:

Minimum:

WORK EXPERIENCE:

Minimum:
