Job Summary:
Deliver coordinated nursing care for patients according to established standards and the nursing process.
Supervise and direct assigned nursing staff.
Coordinate care with other disciplines using critical thinking, professional discretion, and independent judgment.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) – preferred
- Acute care facility experience – preferred
Licenses & Certifications:
- RN licensure in California – required
- CPR/BLS (OR HS-BLS or RQI-BLS) – required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) – required
Essential Functions:
- Collect and analyze patient data to determine diagnosis and care issues.
- Develop and implement nursing care plans to achieve outcomes.
- Coordinate care delivery and promote a safe, healing environment.
- Evaluate patient progress and adjust care plans accordingly.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare providers.
- Provide education to patients, families, and team members.
- Participate in discharge planning for continuity of care.
- Delegate and coordinate duties among healthcare team members.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Organizational Requirements:
- Unit: 50 beds (2 floors, 25 rooms each)
- Medication system: Pyxis
- Documentation system: Cerner IV
- Teams: No-lift teams; pharmacy & phlebotomy 24/7; unit secretary 24/7
- Provider coverage: Intensivist & hospitalist 24/7
