Job summary

Kettering Health Network is seeking a Registered Nurse for a full-time night shift in Labor and Delivery. The RN will provide patient-centered care using the nursing process, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and uphold safety standards in a not-for-profit system serving southwest Ohio.

Applicants must be Ohio-licensed, with BLS, and a BSN preferred within five years. ACLS/NRP/PALS may be required by the unit. Cross-training to another maternity area is expected.

Qualifications

• Licensed in Ohio as a Registered Nurse.
• New graduate may be eligible if from an accredited program (NLN/ACEN/CCNE).
• BSN preferred (to be completed within 5 years of hire).
• Return-to-practice after 5+ years may require refresher course.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS/NRP/PALS as per unit scope of practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care using the nursing process in collaboration with other health care providers.
• Accountable for professional development and practice within legal scope.
• Advocate for patient safety, including delegation of care and involvement in performance and practice improvement.
• Deliver nursing care aligned with Kettering Health Network mission, vision, values, and nursing department philosophies.

Responsibilities

• The Registered Nurse utilizes the nursing process in providing nursing care to patients in all settings in collaboration with other health care providers.
• The RN is accountable for his/her own professional development and practice within the scope of care defined by law.
• Utilizing organizational resources, the RN acts as a patient advocate for the delivery of safe care including delegation of care and participation in performance and practice improvement activities.
• The delivery of nursing care within the Kettering Health Network reflects the missions, vision, values, and philosophies, of the organization and nursing departments

Qualifications

Applicants Must Have:

• Licensed in the state of Ohio as a Registered Nurse
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (NLN, ACEN, or CCNE) if they are a new graduate nurse.
• Bachelor of Science in nursing preferred (must be completed within 5 years of hire).
• A nurse who is returning to the acute care setting after five or more years may be required to provide evidence of successful completion of a refresher course.
• BLS certification
• ACLS, NRP, PALS as determined by unit scope of practice

Preferred Qualifications

This is a full time night shift Labor and Delivery position. Must be cross-trained to another Maternity area.
