Job summary

Campbell County Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for OB/GYN care. The RN will assist physicians in examinations, labor and delivery, operate and monitor equipment, and document birth statistics.

Provides patient-centered care through antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum periods, monitoring mothers and newborns and updating physicians as needed. Responsibilities include patient assessment, care planning with the team, care delivery, progress evaluation, and patient education.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Licensure as Wyoming RN with current, unrestricted license.
• CPR certification as per policy requirements.
• Maternal-child experience preferred; ability to work independently within six months.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and document findings in medical record.
• Develop an age-appropriate plan of care in collaboration with the health care team.
• Implement the plan of care and ensure proper documentation.
• Evaluate progress and revise the plan as needed.
• Educate patients and families about health status and care plan.

Job description

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional nursing care to assigned OB/GYN patients. The RN assists physicians with examinations, labor and delivery, operates and monitors medical equipment, and records relevant statistics, including time of birth. Provides immediate and comprehensive care to mothers and newborns during antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum periods. Observes patient's condition, records observations in patient medical record, and updates attending physician directly when necessary. May administer medications and IV solutions as necessary.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Performs patient assessment and documents in patient record.
• Develops an age-appropriate plan of care, which addresses physical, psychosocial and spiritual needs, in collaboration with other members of the health care team.
• Implements the plan of care, delegates appropriately and ensures documentation of interventions.
• Evaluates progress towards desired outcomes, revises plan of care and intervenes as necessary.
• Educates patient and families regarding current health status, plan of care, and anticipated outcomes.
• Provides service excellence to all customers.
• Maintains professional standards related to clinical practice, staffing and continuing education.
• Practices fiscal responsibility and accountability.
• Actively participates in hospital committees, CQI teams, and Quality Improvement Program.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment.
• May be required to work on other nursing units according to distribution of staff and patients.
• Complies with the hospital’s Corporate Compliance Program including, but not limited to, the Code of Conduct, laws and regulations, and hospital policies and procedures.
• Must be free from governmental sanctions involving health care and/or financial practices.
• Trains in at least one role in the C-Section sterile process.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• Education
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
• Licensure
  • Current unrestricted Wyoming Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Certifications required

• Experience
  • Experience in maternal child preferred.
  • Independent within six months of introduction to role chosen
