The Registered Nurse (Hospital-Based) provides nursing care to patients of various age groups, utilizing nursing processes and standards. Responsibilities include:

  1. Assessing patient health status systematically and continuously to ensure safety and optimal outcomes.
  2. Administering medications and evaluating their effects, adhering to safety guidelines.
  3. Planning and implementing individualized care plans in collaboration with patients and families.
  4. Prioritizing patient problems and delivering appropriate interventions.
  5. Evaluating care outcomes and revising plans accordingly to promote safety and effectiveness.
  6. Serving as an advocate, respecting patient rights, and preparing patients for discharge.
  7. Collaborating with healthcare team members and delegating appropriately to unlicensed staff.

This role also involves:

  • Maintaining professional conduct and appearance.
  • Orienting and supervising new staff and students.
  • Participating in evidence-based practices and ongoing education.
  • Communicating effectively within the team and resolving conflicts constructively.
