RN Manager - Registered Nurse Manager - Pediatric ICU (PICU)
Shift Available: Days 8am-5pm M-F (40 hours/week)
10% Sign On Bonus and Competitive compensation package


Cross Country Search has joined forces with an outstanding Medical Center in Oklahoma City, OK, in search of a Full Time, RN Manager for their Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). These PICU units are specially designed to meet the needs of children. All of the unit's physicians and nurses are pediatric specialists, and are focused on providing developmentally appropriate care. There are four Pediatric Intensive Care doctors on staff. They also have endocrinology, nephrology and hematology/oncology programs. Every nurse in the PICU is certified in Pediatric Advanced Life Support. Many have National Pediatric Certifications and/or Pediatric Critical Care Nursing, Chemo or Advanced Cardiac Life Support certifications.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Directs and coordinates, through supervisors, the activities of the department.
  • Reviews and analyzes reports, records and directives.
  • Monitors and analyzes costs, prepares budgets.
  • Evaluates, develops and implements process improvements to enhance effectiveness.
  • Responsible for the hiring, promoting, discharging and transferring of employees.
  • Responsible for scheduling and staffing needs of the unit; available for staffing needs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • Arranges appropriate in-services and continuing education programs to meet the needs of the staff.
  • Ensures the proficiency of the staff on the unit.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Graduate of an approved school of nursing. BSN required; Master’s level education preferred.
  • Three (3) years of supervisory or charge nurse experience.
  • Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC).
  • Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire.
  • ACLS (American Heart Association) required if caring for Step Down patients.

  • Open to negotiations based on experience.
