They utilize their knowledge and skills to promote excellence in staff recruitment and retention, as well as clinical and business outcomes. The nurse manager acts as the standard bearer on their unit, holding all participants accountable for the delivery of care and services through effective communication, observation, and management of interventions and their outcomes. Responsibilities include deploying clinical, financial, human, and material resources to meet organizational goals.
The nurse manager also serves as the chief retention and safety officer, ensuring safety and quality standards are upheld through data and technology. They foster a safe work environment aligned with the organization's mission and goals, model effective communication and collaboration, and adhere to the Professional Practice Model, 5-Star Nursing. All RN Clinical Nurses must be licensed, knowledgeable, and uphold the standards outlined by the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act and the American Nurses Association's Code of Ethics.
