Job summary

LewisGale Hospital Alleghany in Low Moor, Virginia, is seeking an RN Manager Behavioral Health to oversee clinical services and 24/7 accountability with the behavioral health program. You will manage staffing, budgeting, policy development, and community education initiatives as part of a multidisciplinary team.

The role includes coordinating care, ensuring regulatory compliance (JCAHO, DBHBS, HCFA), and collaborating with administration and leadership to provide high-quality behavioral health

Job Summary and Qualifications

Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating all phases of the clinical service provided to the program. Determines staffing requirements and material resources necessary to provide care to the patients in the program. Provides supervision of, identified clinical personnel in the program, assesses and evaluates the competence and performance of the clinical personnel. Participates in the recruitment of clinical team members. Serves as an active participant in the community education process and marketing initiatives. Oversees day-to-day operations in relation to Behavioral Health Clinical Services. Develops and implements systems to provide for accountability and efficient behavioral health clinical operations. Rotating call schedule with program director to provide 24/7 accountability

Develops and implements policies and procedures that guide and support the provision of behavioral health clinical services to meet overall clinical standards.

Develops and implements guidelines for staffing that reflect appropriate numbers and mix of staff to provide required clinical services to meet the needs of patients.

Maintains a competent clinical staff through hiring qualified candidates, providing appropriate departmental orientation, ongoing verification of competencies, opportunities for continuing education, appropriate supervision, ongoing and yearly evaluation of performance and timely identification and correction of performance issues.

Collaborates as a member of the multidisciplinary treatment team by attending set treatment team meetings and progress reviews as evidence by signature on treatment plans and update forms. May take a leadership role during treatment team meetings when needed.

Works collaboratively with program director, administration and fiscal services to assist in the development ofoperational and capital budgets for Behavioral Health Clinical Services and is responsible for meeting budgets through ongoing monitoring of performance against budgeted targets and adjusting use of resources as indicated to meet budgeted targets.

In conjunction with program director, plans, coordinates, manages and monitors comprehensive Behavioral Health quality management program. Co-facilitates the Behavioral Health Quality Management Committee Meetings. Serves as an organizational resource for Behavioral Health quality management information. Coordinates and directs clinical activities related to JCAHO, DBHBS, HCFA and other regulatory agencies to promote compliance with all standards and/or to address and resolve any deficiencies. Works collaboratively with Administration, Risk Management, Patient Safety Officer, and Behavioral Health staff in coordinating risk management activities. Facilitates handling of patient/family/staff concerns.

Provides input into strategic planning activities.

Represents Behavioral Health Services on hospital and/or market committees or tasks forces and maintains positive and effective working relationships with other hospital departments, medical staff and referral sources.

Provides Administrative oversight for Expressive Therapy Program/Programming, social work, and nursing in collaboration with the program director

Works collaboratively with the CNO, CEO and BH Sales/Development to identify community needs and outreach plans.

Oversees facility role to DBHSA and Human Rights.

Provides administrative assistance to the Behavioral Health Director and direction on key results of patient experience (Press Ganey), BHS Quality Metrics (Getting Green, Streetwise, and MOR), Patient Safety Initiatives (BERT/ATLAS, Guard 1, Broset).

Provides administrative assistance to Behavioral Health Director on Outcomes Measurement education, compliance PHQ-9, PHQ-A, BPRS-C, BPRS, and GDS-10).
