Job summary

Cantex Senior Communities is seeking a Treatment Nurse (RN/LVN) to oversee wound care for Residents and provide direct care as prescribed. You will supervise CNAs, document wounds, and ensure compliance with policies and state regulations.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited nursing program, current Texas license, and a minimum of one year in long-term care. Strong wound care knowledge and English proficiency are essential for this role in a collaborative, resident-centered

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Nursing School and a current Texas nursing license.
• Minimum of one-year experience in a long-term or health care setting preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.

Responsibilities

• Observe, assess, treat, and document Residents' wounds.
• Supervise CNA staff to ensure quality care.
• Document data for QA programs including weekly reports.
• Consult with Director of Nurses/Attending Physician on wound status.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Ensure care plans promote wound healing and safety.
• Communicate with physicians and families about changes in condition.

We are committed to a culture that respects our differences and values the contributions of all people.Please visit cantexcc.com for more information on this location.Job Summary:The primary purpose of the Treatment Nurse (RN/LVN) position is to participate in and oversee the wound care of Residents as prescribed by the attending physician, consistent with accepted standards of care and within the scope of RN/LVN training and licensure.At times, this position will be responsible to provide care directly to the Resident and/or supervise the direction of this care by a Certified Nursing Assistant to ensure that the highest practical well-being is maintained by the Resident.Qualifications:¨ Graduation from an accredited Nursing School and a current and validlicense in the applicable State.¨ Minimum of one-year experience in a long-term or health caresetting is preferred.Knowledge of current wound care treatments and dressings.¨ Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.Essential Functions:¨ Observe, assess, treat, and documents Residents wounds accordingto the Resident Care Management System Skin, Federal, State, and localregulations.¨ Ensures that preventative measures are utilized to prevent the developmentof pressure ulcers.¨ Assists in the collection and documentation of data for Quality Assuranceincluding the weekly Pressure/Non-Pressure Trending Reports.¨ Consults with Director of Nurses/Attending Physician regarding changes inResidents wounds/condition.¨ Receives transcribes and executes physicians' orders.¨ Ensures implementation of care plans to promote wound healing.¨ Administers medications and treatments as prescribed.¨ Identifies and secures equipment and supplies for wound care.¨ Ensures that each Resident's attending physician and family or responsibleparty is promptly notified of any significant change in the Resident's wound/condition and this notification is documented in the medical record.¨ May participate in assigning duties and ensures the delivery of appropriateclinical care by the CNA staff.¨ Ensures that each Resident's accident or incident is fully documented andreported in accordance with Cantex Senior Communities ClinicalPolicies and Procedures and state/federal guidelines and regulations.¨ Ability to function as a Team Leader/Role Model.¨ Ensures a safe environment for Resident population.¨ May participate in the Nurse Manager On call rotation.¨ Has reviewed Cantex Senior Communities Clinical Policies and Proceduresfor Abuse Prevention and knows the employee's responsibility to enforce it.Responsible for assuring patient/resident safetyPerforms other duties as assigned by supervisor.e are an Equal opportunity employer; We offer an excellent benefit plan to include 401K with match, CEU reimbursement, vacation, sick, holidays, medical, dental, and supplemental insurance Plans as well as a Highly competitive compensation package.
