Job summary

Center Management Group is seeking a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse Unit Manager to join our skilled nursing team in a fast-paced sub-acute and long-term care setting. The Unit Manager assists the Director of Nursing in directing the unit according to federal, state, local standards and facility policies to ensure high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved School of Nursing is required.
• Must be currently licensed by the State Board of Nursing.
• At least 1 year of Supervisory Experience.
• Experience in Long Term Care.

Responsibilities

• Monitor licensed and unlicensed nursing staff in delivering quality care to each resident.
• Ensure that nursing staff follows policy and procedures, including appropriate dress code.
• Attend and participate in morning clinical review meeting.
• Review 24-hour resident change in condition report daily and correspond with DON on changes in treatments as necessary.
• Review resident medical records and documentation to ensure clinical programs are in place per policy and procedures.
• Collaborate with the Educator on programs which meet the educational needs of staff.
• Ensure required documentation is completed for every shift in compliance with state and federal rules and regulations.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA rules and regulations on unit, reporting any known violations to the Administrator and DON.
• Assist the DON/ADON with preparing performance evaluations as directed.
• Greet new admissions and families and assist nursing staff with admission process as needed.
• Ensure that all admission documentation is complete in a timely manner.
• Monitor medication distributions and treatment schedules to ensure that medications are being administered as ordered and that treatments are provided as scheduled.
• Provide direct nursing care as necessary.
