  • 24 hours a week, remote position. The employee will contact patients to review prep instructions and medical history for gastroenterology endoscopy procedures.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities
  • Maintains patient confidentiality;
  • Performs Telephone Triage as needed, taking complete, accurate messages from patients and relaying them to appropriate physicians.
  • Schedules, coordinates, and reschedules all patient appointments (including office, outpatient procedures, hospitals, and other medical facilities).
  • Utilizes nursing process effectively in assessing patient needs and planning appropriate follow-up/intervention.
  • Documents assessment and interventions thoroughly and concisely.
  • Develops patient education materials, triage protocols, and clinical guidelines in collaboration with physicians.
  • Uses computer system efficiently and accurately.
  • Provides patient/staff education.
  • Oversees LPNs and MAs.
  • Performs specialty procedures as trained and needed, including assisting MDs with IV therapy, blood product infusions, chemotherapy, cardiac stress tests, wound care, injections.
  • Monitors infection control requirements and ensures compliance with OSHA standards.
  • Responds to emergency situations as necessary.
  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications
  • North Carolina or Compact RN license.
  • Associate or Bachelors Degree in Nursing.
Physical Demands

Standing and walking are continuous; sitting is frequent; kneeling/crouching and lifting are rare.
