Job summary

The Morrison Community Hospital is seeking an RN/LPN to manage a patient panel, applying nursing processes and coordinating care across the care team, with emphasis on therapeutic use of self and safety.

The Prior Authorization Specialist role includes obtaining prior authorizations for medications and procedures from commercial payers, working closely with rheumatology and infusion staff to ensure timely, high-quality care across pediatric to geriatric patients.

Qualifications

• Active nursing license (RN or LPN) in Illinois or Iowa.
• BLS certification.
• Experience in healthcare and prior authorizations preferred.
• Proficient computer skills in Windows.

Responsibilities

• Plan, assess, intervene, coordinate and provide direct patient care.
• Communicate plan of care with physicians, patients and families.
• Verify insurance benefits and obtain prior authorizations.
• Ensure timely, high-quality care with Rheumatology and infusion staff.
• Document in clinic records and reconcile medications.
