Job summary
South Peninsula Hospital, located in Homer, Alaska, seeks a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Long Term Care team. You will provide skilled nursing assessments, administer medications, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver resident-centered care in a scenic coastal community.
This 0.9 FTE, union-position offers a competitive salary with comprehensive benefits, including health/dental/vision insurance and generous PTO.
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Alaska.
- Current BLS certification.
- Minimum 1 year in geriatric or long-term care nursing preferred.
- Strong communication and documentation skills (verbal, written, computer).
- Ability to calculate dosages and follow clinical protocols.
- Must maintain CEUs and competency in medication/IV therapy.
- Experience with EMR and Pyxis; infection control training.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing assessments and direct care.
- Administer medications, treatments, and therapies; monitor residents.
- Supervise and coordinate care with LPNs, CNAs, and staff on shifts.
- Document care and respond to changes per regulations.
- Participate in admissions, discharges, care planning, and quality improvement.
