Job summary

Ochsner Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to lead and coordinate patient care within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act. The role requires accurate use of the nursing process, teaching patients and families, and effective collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.

The incumbent will maintain professional accountability, comply with compliance standards, and contribute to unit and department goals, while delivering high-quality patient care and supporting a diverse patient population.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current RN license in state of practice.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certified.
• Preferred: certification in a clinical specialty area.

Responsibilities

• Uses the nursing process to deliver patient care.
• Assess learning needs and provide teaching for patients and families.
• Delegate and manage nursing team resources within the interdisciplinary team.
• Use data to evaluate and promote changes for better outcomes.
• Support patient privacy and comply with regulatory standards.
• Perform related duties as required.
