Job summary

Ochsner Health is seeking a registered nurse leader to provide expert patient care using the nursing process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act. You will supervise licensed and ancillary staff, ensure quality outcomes, and uphold a compassionate, inclusive care environment.

Responsibilities include teaching diverse patients and families, delegating tasks to the nursing team, and leveraging data to drive improvements in patient care and satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Required: RN license in state of practice.
• Preferred: BSN and certification in clinical specialty.
• Proficiency with computers and clear verbal/written communication.
• Ability to lead an interdisciplinary team and manage resources.

Responsibilities

• Effectively uses the nursing process in the delivery of patient care.
• Assesses learning needs and implements teaching strategies appropriate for the diverse needs of the patient, family and other groups or disciplines.
• Communicates, delegates, and manages nursing team resources (human and fiscal) properly and serves as a leader and partner on the interdisciplinary team.
• Uses data, information, and knowledge to evaluate and promote change in order to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Embraces concepts and behaviors that enhance customer satisfaction and employee morale and improvement in the profession of nursing.
• Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including respect for privacy and appropriate communication style.
• Performs other related duties as required.
