Job summary

Saint Mary of Nazareth Hospital in Chicago, IL, is seeking a Registered Nurse for Labor & Delivery to deliver safe patient care during antepartum and postpartum periods. The role requires adherence to nursing processes, effective patient and family teaching, and supervision of junior staff as needed.

The position is full-time, night 12-hour shifts with rotating schedules, located at 60622. A BSN is preferred, with required RN licensure and core certifications; sign-on bonus applies for qualified

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• BSN degree preferred.
• BLS, ACLS, NRP certifications within stated time frames.
• Fetal monitoring certifications within specified timelines.
• AWHONN fetal monitoring certificates beneficial.
• STABLE preferred.

Responsibilities

• Delivery of safe patient care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice and guides patient/family teaching.
• Maintains standards of care in the Birthplace and responds quickly to changes in condition.

Education

Current and valid state RN License

BSN degree preferred

BLS certification within 30 days and maintain current

ACLS certification within 90 days and maintain current

NRP certification within 90 days and maintain current

Basic Fetal monitoring within 60 days of hire and maintain current

AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certificate within 12 months

AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring certificate preferred

STABLE preferred
