Qualifications

• Active RN license in state of practice.
• BLS certification.
• ACLS certification.
• NRP certification.
• eFM competency (AWHONN preferred).
• Labor & Delivery or maternal-child health experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for laboring, antepartum and postpartum mothers and newborns.
• Continuously monitor maternal and fetal status, including fetal monitoring.
• Assist with vaginal and cesarean deliveries while following safety protocols.
• Administer medications, IV fluids, and blood products per orders.
• Respond promptly to obstetric emergencies with appropriate interventions.
• Educate families on labor, delivery, and newborn care.
• Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, and the care team.
• Document assessments and interventions in the EHR.
• Engage in quality improvement and safety initiatives.

The RN will manage laboring patients, assist with deliveries, monitor fetal and maternal status, administer medications, and support families through the birthing experience. This role collaborates closely with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, high-quality outcomes. Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to laboring, antepartum, and postpartum patients and newborns.
• Continuously monitor maternal and fetal status, interpreting electronic fetal monitoring strips.
• Assist with vaginal and cesarean deliveries, ensuring adherence to safety and infection-control protocols.
• Administer medications, IV fluids, and blood products per provider orders and hospital policies.
• Recognize and respond to obstetric and neonatal emergencies, initiating appropriate interventions.
• Educate patients and families on labor, delivery, postpartum care, and newborn care.
• Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, pediatricians, and ancillary staff to coordinate care.
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the EHR.
• Participate in quality improvement, safety initiatives, and evidence-based practice projects.
